Allen B. Messman, 52, Grabill, died Saturday (Oct. 7, 2000) at his home.

Mr. Messman retired in 1997 as a conductor for the Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he had been employed for 30 years.

He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne and a veteran of the Navy.

He was born Jan. 13, 1948, to Paul and Elizabeth Geiger Messmann.

Survivors include two sons, Rick A. Messman of Fort Wayne and Shawn P. Messman of Harlan; four daughters, Kelly J. Finton of Roanoke, Michelle L. Allen of Mesa, Ariz., Aimee R. Voss of Fort Wayne, and Holly S. Ehle of Granger; a sister, Lisa L. Leeper of Grabill; a brother, Terry L. Messmann of Angola; and 13 grandchildren.

Calling is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday at the E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Ind.-930E, New Haven.

Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Woodburn.

Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
