Warren's family lived in the home of his great uncle, Lewis Ott, 2118 S. Yakima Avenue, Tacoma WA. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran College in 1948. After teaching briefly in Granger in eastern Washington, he taught in the secondary schools of Tacoma. When Tacoma Community College opened he joined the staff as a mathematics professor.
He died of Lou Gehrig's disease at the age of 61.
