Etia attended the University of Nancy in France with her cousin Zlotta. The 2 cousins met 2 brothers at the university. Etia married Ben Oulitzky and Zlotta married Philippe Oulitzky (Oulitzky was later shortened to Olitt).

Etia & Ben joined the Kelmanovitch-Krichesky family in Portland, Oregon in 1912 and brought her parents Sobil and Gadolys Kellmenovitch with them. Etia & Ben had 2 children--Arny (born in 1913) and Charlotte (born in 1915).

According to ellisisland.org, Etia & Ben departed Cherbourg, France on the ship Wilhelm der Grosse and arrived in New York on September 26, 1912. The last place they lived before coming to the U.S. was Geneva, Switzerland.
