Mrs. Sarah Amelia Wilson, 85, a former resident of the Roseburg area, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 1978 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City. She had been ill for a month.
She was born in Canada on November 16, 1892, the daughter of the late John and Martha Hope White. She moved with her parents to Minden City area at the age of two.
She and Mr. Hugh Wilson were married November 30, 1916, in Minden City and moved to Roseburg where they farmed. They moved to Fife Lake over two years ago to live with their daughter, Mrs. Saloma Hayes.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of Bethel United Missionary Church, Roseburg. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1966.
Surviving is her husband Hugh of Traverse City; two daughters. Mrs. Claburn (Saloma) Hayes, Fife Lake and Mrs. Les (Alma) Bacheller, Port Huron; 6 grand-children and 5 great-grand-children; one sister, Mrs. Edna Warczinsky, Deckerville and nieces and nephews. She was is preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Remains were in the Kaatz Funeral Home, Yale, where funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday. Rev. Lewis Buchner, pastor of Ravenna United Methodist Church officiated. Committal services were in North Fremont Cemetery near Roseburg.
