–Hiram Stroud living on the Stallard place south of Forest City, died on Friday last, March 26, 1909, after a brief illness of a few hours, from heart disease, in the 55th year of his age. He was born near Monticello, Ind., in 1855, and in February, 1875 he married Linnie McDaniel, of Holt county. He leaves a widow, nine grand children, and the following children: George, Roy, Lewis, Wesley; Nellie, Myrtle, Mrs: W. O. Brown, of Chester, Neb., and Mrs. Henry Frazer, of near Oregon. The funeral was held Saturday 27th inst. from the family home, the services being conducted by Rev. Kinzey, the interment being in the Forest City cemetery.
