ENGLEBERT ARNETT

Bert Arnett, 57, owner-operator of Arnett Night Club on Rt. 1, Kewaunee, died
unexpectedly following a heart attack early Sunday morning. He had arrived a
short time before at his summer cottage near Rhinelander when he was stricken.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theophil Uetzmann will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Arnett was born Jan 12, 1900 at Eagle River, Wis., son of the late Paul
Arnett and Mrs. Anna Saumaulke Arnett. He resided for a time in the state of
Idaho and came to Manitowoc in 1923 where Aug. 16, 1928, he married Minnie
Felde. The couple resided at Manitowoc until 1944 when Mr. Arnett took over
operation of the night club.
A veteran of World War I, he served with the Navy. He was a member of American
Legion Post No. 538, Town of Carlton, Kewaunee County, and was service officer
at the time of death. The Legion post will provide military rites at graveside.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Dale Nimmer of Rt. 1, Mishicot; mother,
Mrs. Arnett of Hales Corners; a brother, George of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs.
William Kilps of Hales Corners and Mrs. Ray Morrison of Sand Point, Idaho; and
a grandson, Scot Nimmer of Mishicot.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Fuenral Home, Manitowoc, after 2 p.m..
Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church where
the body will lie in state until the hour of serve.
