Born on Feb. 11, 1917, in Bartonsville, she was the daughter of the late John C. Sr. and Daisy J. (Shook) Alleger. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
She started her professional career at the First National Bank of Stroudsburg in 1943 in the Trust Department. She retired in 1981 as an assistant vice president of 1st Eastern Bank. She was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Congregational Church in Bartonsville, where she served on the church council.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Millie Alleger of Bartonsville; a nephew, John C. Alleger III of Bartonsville; a niece, Patricia A. Adelmann and her husband, Eric, of Stroudsburg; a great-nephew, John Adelmann of Stroudsburg; and a great-niece, Rebecca Adelmann of Stroudsburg.
