Arthur E. Presby, Sr., 53, died Dec. 14, 2000, at his home on Horse Corner Road in Chichester. He was born Jan. 23, 1947, in New London, the son of Marion (Partridge) and Levi Presby.

Mr. Presby was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He moved from Danbury to Chichester in 1975. He worked for Union Iron Workers Local 474 in Manchester for 25 years. After retiring, he owned and operated his own trucking business. He also enjoyed restoring muscle cars.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Linda Presby; daughter Christine Swain; son Arthur Presby, Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister Alice Davis of Franklin; brother Frank Presby of Laconia; one grandson; and one granddaughter.

Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main Street, Concord. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel at the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Heslam will officiate.
