ST. LIBORY - Herman H. Teng, 95, died Saturday in a Greeley care home. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The Rev. John Russell will officiate. Mr. Teng was born April 30, 1892, at Devon, Iowa to Herman and Katie Hatter Teng. He received his early education at Iowa schools and grew to manhood on the family farm in Iowa. The family moved to the St. Libory area in 1900 where the family farmed. He served in the United States Army from 1918 to 1919. After his discharge he returned to farm with his family. He married Herta Dammann on Feb. 16, 1926 at Worms. The couple farmed in the St. Libory area all their married life. Mrs. Teng died Dec. 18, 1970. He continued to make his home on a farm until October of 1980 when he moved to Lebensraum Nursing Home where he lived until entering a Greeley Care Home. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Grand Island.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Ellen) Spilinek of Elba; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, four sisters and three brothers.
