Funeral services for Yoke Chin, also known as George Gong, 85, of Charleston, were at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Womble Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Charleston Cemetery.
Mr. Gong died April 7, 2011, at Tallahatchie Extended Care Facility.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1925, in Canton, China.
Mr. Gong was the owner of Far East Grocery, attended Northwest Junior College, was a veteran of the Korean War, and the widower of Mary Nell Arendale Gong.
Survivors include two sons, George Riley Gong of Charleston and John Lee Gong of Greenwood; a stepson, Larry Arendale of Charleston; two sisters, Gee Gu Gong of Canton, China and Gee Jen Gong Fong of Los Angeles, Calif.
Womble Funeral Home was in charge.
