He died of emphysema.
He was a former politician and Jackson County native who served as State Representative, Senator. He was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 1940 at age 25.
World War II Veteran, U.S. Marines.
Living in Kansas City in 1946, he successfully ran for the state Senate. In 1955, he was appointed by President Dwight Eisenhower to a post with the U.S. Department of the Interior in Alaska.
Survived by; brother, Pete Madison of Mexico; three sons, Charles L. Madison Jr. and Elliott Madison, and Neil Madison; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
