Mrs. Catherine Krainik, 82, lifelong resident of Manitowoc county and widow of
a pioneer hotel keeper, died Sunday morning at the home of her niece, Mrs. Oscar
Belinske, where she had been making her home. She had been in failing health for
the past few years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Frazier
mortuary with the Rev. F. C. St. Clair of St. James Episcopal church officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Krainik, nee Catherine Tachetsky, was born in Kossuth on April 15, 1860 the
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Tachetsky. After her marriage to Joseph
Krainik about 57 years ago she helped her husband operate a hotel at Two Creeks.
Several years later the couples came to this city and operated a hotel at Eighth
and Chicago streets.
Mr. Krainik died in 1923. There are no children but two brothers, Adolph and Frank
Petska, both of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Henry Blanke, Plymouth, survive.
The body may be viewed at the Frazier Mortuary from 7 p.m. today until the time
of services.

At Kellnersville, Tuesday, June 15, by Michael Kellner, J.P., Mr. Joseph Kranik
to Miss Katie Tahetsky(sic). The bride, a charming young lady, wore a beautiful
dress of white faille with lace trimmings and tulle veil fastened by a wreath
of orange blossoms. The bridesmaids wore white silk garnitured(sic) with flowers.
The groom and his groomsmen were handsomely attired. Mr. Krainik is one of the
wealthiest farmers in Kossuth and is a much respected citizen. After the ceremony
the numerous guests were handsomely entertained by their host and hostess. Several
guest from abroad attended the wedding, among them Wenzel Krainik of Montana, a
brother of the groom.
