A long-time resident of Blanchardville, Mrs. Edward (Mary) Thompson, Jr., 92, now a resident at the New Glarus Home, died Monday, Oct. 22, 1984, at the nursing home, following a long illness.

Born Dec. 25, 1891, in Primrose Township, Dane County, she was the daughter of Albert and Olena Ness Anderson. She attended Tyvand rural school.

She was married to Edward Thompson, Jr. in December of 1915. She had been in business with her husband in Blanchardville and they had lived here all their married lives.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Blanchardville Lutheran Church and its ALCW, the Dobson-Johnson Legion Auxiliary, and the Blanchardville Garden Club.

Survivors include her husband, Ed, a resident of the New Glarus Nursing Home; three sons, Dr. Paul L., Argyle; John, Nekoosa, and Robert, Bloomington, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. Phil (Vivian) Paulson, Rice Lake; one sister, Mrs. Leonard (Ardith) Peterson, Madison; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Grace, Aida, Lilly and Della, and three brothers, Marvin, Morris and Alvin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 25, at the Blanchardville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wayne Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Blanchardville.

Friends and relatives may call at the Saether Funeral Home, Blanchardville, from 4 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24. Legion Auxiliary services will be held at 4:30 p.m.
