Mr. Barnes was born August 19, 1919 in Gay, Oklahoma to William Thomas and Nancy Ellen Jones Barnes. He had lived most of his life in this area.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a Baptist minister for 31 years, ministering to several local churches.
He was survived by his wife; two daughters; three sons; one brother; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held February 27, 1996 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Floyd Woodard officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet cemetery under direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home, Hugo, Oklahoma.
