Claude Simono, age 92, of Two Rivers, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Kindred Hearts in Manitowoc. Claude was born on June 28, 1923 in Manitowoc, son of the late Benjamin and Florence (Martens) Simono. After graduating high school, Claude received his Bachelors of Science degree from St. Norbert College in DePere. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a forward radio operator in the European Theater. On September 11, 1954 he married the former Elaine Lodel at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on September 25, 1999. Claude worked in the production control department at Hamiltons for 26 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, former member of the Holy Name Society and the Men of St. Luke’s and St. Mark’s. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Ron Books, Neenah; one son: Frank Simono (Mary Anne), Gurnee, IL; two grandchildren: Nathan (Heather) Books and Erik Books; and one great grandson: Riley. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by five brothers: Aelred, Hubert, Bernard “Sam”, Gerard and Roger Simono. Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, at funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Full military honors will be accorded by the VFW and American Legion Posts of Two Rivers.
