Note: Some records indicate Betsy was born 10 January 1773, not 1779.
Elizabeth was born in the vicinity of Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. She married Andrew McKenzie (1771-1817) in c1798 at presumably Iredell County, North Carolina. They remained in North Carolina for a number of years, where 7 or all 8 of their 8 children were born, before moving to Christian County, Kentucky in 1814. Betsy moved to Texas with some of her children in 1832.
Their eight known children were:
1. Mary Evaline McKenzie Bell (1799-1856)
2. Elizabeth Lucinda McKenzie Girand (1801-1875)
3. William Washington McKenzie (1803-1894)
4. Amanda McKenzie (1805-1823)
5. Louisa Agnes McKenzie McCormick (1807-1875)
6. Catherine Althelia McKenzie Gunnell (1809-1894)
7. James Lincoln McKenzie (1812-1845)
8. Jane Caroline McKenzie Stevenson (1814-1836)
For the two children whose burial locations are unknown, Amanda McKenzie is believed to have died, unmarried, at Christian County, Kentucky. Jane Caroline McKenzie married John Fulton Stevenson (???-1841, a cousin of Jane's?) in 1832 at presumably Kentucky and then soon after moved to Texas where both Jane and John died.
Links to Betsy's parents, husband, six of her eight known children and ten of her eleven known siblings are included below.
