The drowning of Harvey Francisco, his 16-year-old son James, and Sidney Kesler at the half-way dam, Saturday, is one of the most distressing accidents that has occurred in the history of the county. That three stalwart men could have their lives cut short so quickly and unexpectedly makes the thread of life seem very delicate indeed, Mr. Kesler had been a resident-of-the county only two years, coming here from Wood county, Ohio, and settling on a new farm east of this city. Mr. Francisco had been a resident of the county about thirty years. He was a man well liked, honest in convictions and upright in character and respected by all who came into friendly or social relations, and was the same in business matters. His taking off is particularly sad because of the fact that he was just settled in a home that he expected to be free from debt this season with the help of his son. He leaves a wife and four daughters, a host of friends and neighbors who mourn his untimely departure. The funerals were all held Monday and all three were laid in the Landon cemetery.
