Farmer Hangs Self In Barn
Bluffton, Ind., March 21.- William Thoms, coroner, who was called late Thursday (20 March 1930) to investigate the death of William Perry, age sixty-two, Montpelier, who hung himself in a barn on his farm in Chester Township, Wells County, reported that his verdict would be suicide. Perry, a retired farmer, had gone to his barn shortly after noon. He took a small rope from a hay fork and mounted a ladder. He tied one end of the rope to the rafter in the barn and the other about his neck and stepped off the ladder.
