Alice Ahrens, 77, of 1433 N. 6th St., Manitowoc, died early Tuesday morning, April 28, 1987 at Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers. Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Keith J. Burnett will officiate and entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum.
Mrs. Ahrens nee Alice Wallau, was born April 1, 1910 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Quirin and Emma Wanek Wallau. She was a lifelong Manitowoc County resident. She was married to Fred Ahrens, November 14, 1939 at Menominee, Michigan. The couple owned and operated a farm at Clover for 25 years and then upon their retirement moved to Manitowoc residing here since. Her husband preceded her in death April 23, 1971.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Szecsel of Oxnard, California; Jeannette and Joseph Fictum of Mishicot; a brother, Leonard Wallau of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, David, Debra, Denise, Amy and Mandy Szecsel and Sarah and Michael Fictum; a special niece, Mrs. Norbert (Shirley) Pellow of Manitowoc; other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Fuenral Home, Manitowoc, 6 pm to 9 pm this Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
