Walter Senn
Walter Fredrick Senn, 82, of New London, Died while duck hunting northeast of Wever Monday, Nov. 10, 1997.
Born July 14, 1915, in Burlington, he was the son of John C. Sr. and Kate Boeckle Senn. In 1940, he married Jeanne Yohe. She died in 1956. He then married Adeline A. Steckel on Sept 27, 1962, in Burlington.
Mr. Senn worked for E.B. Case Co. before entering the se3rvice. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as a Seabee. He was a journeyman machinist for Murray-Turbo Ironworks of Burlington for 49 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Burlington, Ducks Unlimited, International Association of Machinists and Veterans of Foreign War Post 101203 of Burlington.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mary Christe of New London; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Edmark and Ethel Helms, both of Burlington, and Virginia Luttenegger and Esther Schroeder, both of New London; several nieces and nephews.
Beside his first wife, he was preded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will begin after noon today at Lunning chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. Senn will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Evans officiating. Burial wull be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 10102.
A memorial has been established for Ducks Unlimited.
