Rosemarie H. Acosta, age 81, of Flagstaff, AZ, passed away July 17, 2012.
Rosie, as she was known to her many friends, was born in Lübeck, Germany on April 18, 1931 and came to the United States aboard the Queen Mary in 1956. Her love of adventure and travel took her to Los Angeles and then to the Grand Canyon, where she worked as a Harvey Girl and then on to Tusayan where she worked until 2007.
Rosemarie was preceded in death by Gabriel, her husband of 14 years.
She is survived by her only daughter, Rosita Issel, son in law, David and grandchildren Christopher and Taryn, her brother Rolf and many nieces and nephews in Mexico and Germany.
A graveside service will be held at the Grand Canyon Pioneer Cemetery on July 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of her life at the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel from 3-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Northern Arizona Volunteer Medical Group or do a random act of kindness and pay it forward in Rosie's honor. Condolences or memories may be shared with her family online at www.norvelowensmortuary.com.
