Ellen Lois Burger Dickson, 88, died December 6 at Winslow Memorial Hospital with family members at her side. She was born to Augustice H. and Louise E. Lohmeyer May 17, 1912 at Clatonia, Nebraska. She grew up and attended school at Clatonia. She married Elmer G. Burger September 3, 1935 at Clatonia. They farmed near Dewitt, Nebraska, later moving to Dewitt where they owned a grocery store. In 1950 they moved to Phoenix. She worked as a dietician at a school, nursing home and several hospitals. In 1969 they moved to Payson where she continued her work at the hospital until her retirement. Her husband died in 1977. She moved to Winslow in 1979 and became a Mary Kay Consultant. She married Kirby G. Dickson in 1986 in Winslow. He died in 1989.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling, cooking and sewing. She was an active life-long member of the Lutheran Church and the church women's organizations. She resided at Padilla's Residential Care for the last 10 months of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first and second husbands, a brother Clarence Lohmeyer, and a grandson Mark A. Burger. She is survived by a sister Adelyn Griswold, Lincoln, Nebraska; brothers Raymond Lohmeyer, Crete, Nebraska; Arlen Lohmeyer, Wilber, Nebraska; daughter Louise A. Longlet (husband Floyd), Amnia, North Dakota; son George S. Burger, Sr. (wife Patsy), Winslow, ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Ladies' Aid, P.O. Box 249, Winslow, Arizona 86047.
