John Boldt, 83, former town and school official in Maple Grove, died Wednesday night at the farm in that town, now operated by his son, Fred, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Luecker funeral home, Brillion, and at 2:30 at the St. Bartholamew (sic) Lutheran church of Kasson. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Maple Grove.
He was born in Jackson, Wis., and in early life his parents moved to Maple Grove. He married Miss Lena Maile in 1896 and they located on the present homestead. He was a member of the Kasson church, served nine year as a town supervisor, and several terms on a district school board.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, George and Alvin of Brillion and Fred on the home farm; seven daughters, Mrs. Annie Dreier of Appleton, Mrs. Ella Heigl of Menasha, Mrs. Agnes Bucholz and Mrs. Catherine Sengbusch of Maple Grove, Mrs. Della Giese of Ypsilanti, Mich., Mrs. Sarah Schneider of Neenah and Mrs. Maragaret Behnke of Rockland; brother, Henry of Appleton; 34 grand-children and nine great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Friday noon until the hour of services.
