The dates and name on this tombstone are not accurate. Truman Hill Chubbuck was born on Jan. 1, 1846. Charles Hull Chubbuck, his brother, was born on Dec. 2, 1842. Sources indicate that Charles Hull died of consumption in Hudson, St. Croix, Wisconsin, not in Del Rio, Texas.

The date of death for Truman is actually May 12, 1909 NOT Dec. 5, 1909. This is apparently an error derived from the Spanish method of writing the day, then month. Therefore, 5/12/1909 vs. 12/5/1909 could have caused this error.

We believe that Truman Hill Chubbuck (who later changed his surname to Poole, as did brother Edward Fish Chubbuck/Poole) is buried here with the wrong first name on his headstone. Personal stories refer to "Uncle Charlie," which lead us to believe that at some point, Truman took on the name of his deceased brother in Wisconsin. To help confirm this, we are still searching for the burial place of Charles Hull Chubbuck in Hudson, St. Croix, Wisconsin. Help is appreciated.

In addition, it is told that the two brothers: Edward Fish and Truman Hill wound up in Mexico and married twin sisters, both teachers. We know that Edward married Aurelia Guerrero Martinez de Pool, and that Truman married her sister, Dominga. However, we cannot locate the burial site of Dominga Guerrero Martinez de Pool. Help is appreciated.
