Rites Set for
Edwin Friedel

Services for Edwin A. Friedel, 61, of 1247 E. Fourteenth St., who died of cancer Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Visitation Catholic Church, of which he was a member.
Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery. A rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Cooley's Capitol Hill Funeral Home. Knights of Columbus are requested to attend.
Born at Burlington, Mr. Friedel lived here for 50 years and was owner-manager of Des Moines Welding Co. for 25 years. He was a member of the Visitation Church Holy Name Society, Dowling Club, Knights of Columbus, United Commercial Tavelers, and was a charter member and officer of the American Welding Society.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes, two sons, Edwin R., Des Moines, and Lawrence J., Davenport; two daughters, Mrs Therese Patterson, Des Moines, and Mrs. Rosemary Kuhse, Grundy Center; three brothers, Henry A., Denver, Colo., August J., Chicago, Ill., and George K., Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister Sister Mary Norma, B.V.M., Boulder, Colo., and 16 grandchildren.
