Evelyn Louise Ackerson, 61, of Evans died at the North Colorado Medical Center Hospice Inpatient Unit on Wednesday, May 12. She was born on November 15, 1948 in Fort Collins to Samuel and Majel (Tormey) Anderson.She received her LPN degree in Laramie in 1961 and married David Gary Ackerson on November 15, 1969 in Laramie, Wyoming. Evelyn was an LPN for 32 years and worked at Bonell. She lived in Laramie for 7 years and moved to Greeley where they lived for 20 years before moving to Evans for the past 15 years. Evelyn was a member of the LDS, Women Order of the Moose, Colorado Nurses Association, Curator Member of the Denver Zoo and a member of the Museum and Natural History in Denver. She loved to knit, crochet and embroider crafts. She attended bluegrass festivals and loved trips to the mountains during the different seasons. She liked to hike and enjoyed all wildlife. She also loved to attend different performances at the UCCC and other event centers and playhouses. Gardening and flowers of all seasons was also a passion.She is survived by her husband Gary of their home in Evans, sons William "Bill" Ackerson of Greeley and David J. Ackerson of Evans, her parents Sam and Majel Anderson of Casper, WY and her sisters Wanda (Bernie) Lowe of Lovell, WY and Beverly Medina of Magnus, UT as well as 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Services will be held at Bonell - Elsa Borgmann Chapel on Monday at 2 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the Bonell Good Samaritan Society in care of Allnutt Funeral Service. The family requests that flowers be sent to the chapel at Bonell.
