H. F. Burnham died in north
Princeton early yesterday morning,
aged 79 years. The immediate cause
of death was Bright's disease,
although the old gentleman had for a
long time suffered from rheumatism in
acute form. During his sickness
was cared for by Mrs. Gibson, who
everything in her power to
alleviate the suffering of the
old gentleman.

The funeral will be held this after-
noon at 2 o'clock and William Jones
of the Christian church will have
charge of the arrangements while
Rev. J. W. Heard will conduct
the services. The interment will be
in the little cemetery on the north
side among the pines, where Mr. Burn-
ham will be laid to rest beside his wife.
Hiram F. Burnham was born on
September 14,1830, near Concord, New
Hampshire, and came to Minnesota
in 1857. His first place of abode in
this state was Hastings, where, on
October 14, 1861, he married
Miss Mary E. Hatch. From Hastings he
moved to Castle Rock and later to
Shakopee. In 1868 he settled on a
farm in Greenbush and lived there
until about three years ago, when he
took up his residence in the house
where he died. Mr. Burnham's wife
died about twelve years ago. There
were two children born of the union
both of whom died when young.

Mr. Burnham was an honorable,
kind-hearted old gentleman who leaves
many friends to mourn his departure
from earth.

Chas. M. B. Hatch of Minneapolis,
brother-in-law of Mr. Burnham, was
in attendance at the funeral.

Mr. Hatch takes this means of sin-
cerely thanking the kind friends and
neighbors who so well cared for his
brother-in-law during his long period
of sickness.
