Mrs. Gustave Becker, 58, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon enroute
to Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. She had become ill and was being taken to the
hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating. Burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Lillian Luckow was born July 16, 1902 at Sheboygan, daughter of the
late Albert and Eugenia Boldt Kohl Luckow. She was married to Gustave Becker at
Newton May 19, 1923 and the couple lived at Milwaukee eight years before moving
to Rt. 1, Manitowoc. She was a member of Ladies Aid Society of the church and
Shady Side Homemakers.
Surviving are the husband; a son, Elroy of Manitowoc; five daughters, Mrs. William
Engelbrecht of Rt. 1, Manitowoc and Mrs. Charles Graves, Mrs. Frank Laughlin, Mrs.
Robert O'Keefe and Miss Eloise Becker of Chicago; three brothers, Henry of Rt. 4,
Manitowoc, Irving of Newton and Elmer of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Mathias
Reinertson of Quarry, Wis., and eight grandchildren. Two sons and a sister preceded
her in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until 11 am Tuesday
when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until
the hour of service.
