Mrs. Myrtle M. Berkedal, 93, of 3305 Fairmont Street, Manitowoc, died Monday evening, March 23, 1987, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Thursday at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Bruce hanstedt and Rev. David Berkedal will officiate with
burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Berkedal was born October 20, 1893 at Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Oscar and Anna Halverson Gunderson. She attended
Manitowoc Schools. She married Olaf Berkedal on June 30, 1920 at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1960. Mrs. Berkedal was a member
of First Lutheran Church, Church Women, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Family Service.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and James, both of Manitowoc; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Krueger of Manitowoc and Carol
and Robert Carlson of Madison, Minnesota; a brother, C.L. Gunderson of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Higgins and Mrs. Agnes
Watson, both of Manitowoc; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends survive. She was
preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 pm to 9 pm Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am to 11 am at the funeral home and then
at the church from 12 noon until the hour of service. Memorials would be appreciated to First Lutheran Church.
