On June 8, 1942, Jesse enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country until October 6, 1945. Jesse Clay Spangler and Mildred Nadine Shaw were united in marriage on March 28, 1942 in Stroud, Oklahoma. To this union seven children were born.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mildred Nadine Spangler of the home; six children and their spouses, Jessie Miller and the late Jerry Miller of Stroud, Jim and Linda Spangler, Jerry Spangler and the late Judy Spangler, Janice and Paul Allee, and Jay Spangler all of Depew, and Jack and Roberta Spangler of Perkins; one brother, Wayne Spangler of Tulsa; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jody Spangler, three sisters, Mabel Witt, Lois Haskins and Eva Neeley; three brothers, Leonard, Jack and Earl Spangler; and a great-granddaughter, Dana Montgomery.
Funeral Services are 10:00 am, Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Depew Church of God with Pastor Steven Spangler officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Depew.
