Albert G. Deja, 85, of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, a member of an early Town of Two
Rivers family, died at 6 p.m. Sunday at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. He
became afflicted with a stroke at home Friday.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Deja & Martin Funeral
Chapels, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. with a solemn requiem high Mass at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Celebrant will be the Rev. Joseph Gabryszek
and the deacon and sub-deacon will be the Revs. George Beth and Donald Rose.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Deja was born April 23, 1875, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late
Casimir and Mary Deja. He received his elementary education in Two Rivers
schools. In 1906, he built a meat market on Two Rivers’ East Street which he
operated for 10 years. The establishment is now the Gauthier Meat Market.
Returning to the present farm, he operated a truck garden and also a slaughter
house, serving Two Rivers meat dealers.
He married the former Kathrine Peaschek at Newton June 21, 1899, who survives
him. He was a member of Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart church.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Skrzycke of Two Rivers, a
brother, Anton of Blue Island, Ill.; four grandchildren and 12 great grand-
children.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 2 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary
will be recited at 8 p.m.
