She was born in NC and was the daughter of the late Stokes Ivey Pope and Orpha Marie Leonard Pope. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Frances Norman and Etta Mae Pope.
She is survived by her husband Pastor Harold J. Elting Jr., two daughters Karen E. Elting Cico and Sandra E. Elting Carnahan, a brother, L.B. Pope, a sister Marlene Pope Flinchum and four grandchildren, Kayla and Stefanie Carnahan and Jarrod and Nicole Cico.
