Afflicted with a heart stroke early Sunday morning at the home of
Senator Everett LaFond, 1704 Lakeside Drive, Two Rivers, with whom
he had been making his home the past year, Joseph Peronto, 62, an
overseas veteran of World War I, died at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital
Sunday night.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Klein & Stangel,
Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Two Rivers.
Joseph Peronto, who was single, was born in Two Rivers in 1889, a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Peronto Sr. In his youth he worked as
a commercial fisherman and 24 years ago left Two Rivers for Menasha
where he was employed for a number of years at the Menasha Woodenware
Company. Later he went to Lakewood, Wis., where he was employed in the
lumber camps, returning to Two Rivers a year ago. Since, he had been
employed as janitor at Port Sand Bay. Mr. Peronto was in the army
service in World War I, serving in France.
His only survivors are a number of nephews and nieces in Two Rivers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Tuesday until time of
services.
