Youth, 14, Killed on Motorcycle
Gregory C. Clapper, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Clapper of Adamsville Road was killed about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday when his motorcycle was struck by a car on Muskingum County Road 154, about 1.4 miles west of Ohio 93 four miles southwest of Adamsville.
He was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center by Adamsville Emergency Squad and was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Highway Patrol said Clapper's westbound motorcycle was struck by an eastbound car driven by Miss Bonnie L. Starcher, 19, also of Route 5. Miss Starcher was cited for failure to yield one-half of the roadway and is scheduled to appear Friday in East County Court, the patrol said.
Born in Zanesville, Sept. 19, 1957, he was a son of Chris and Mabel Bennett Clapper.
The youth attended Washington Township Baptist Church and was a freshman at Tri-Valley High School in Dresden.
Also surviving are a sister, Theresa, of the home; paternal grandfather, James Clapper of Adamsville Road; and several aunts and uncles.
Delong and Baker Funeral Home is in charge.
