Husband, father and friend, Keith Reed Bailey, passed away July 27, 2012, with his wife at his side, at his home in Heber City, Utah. He was born December 7, 1926 in Nephi, Utah to Wilford and Alice Francom Bailey. In 1946 Keith married Eileen Glazier (later divorced), with whom he had 4 children. He married Joyce Murdock, the love of his life, on August 22, 1987.
Keith graduated early from Juab High School so he could honorably serve his country in the US Navy Medical Corp. After his discharge Keith attended the University of Utah where he received a Bachelors degree in Education. He later received a Masters degree in Ed. Administration from BYU. Keith was a teacher and principal in Nephi, Utah, the Superintendant of South Summit School District, and Director of Eastern Utah UniServ. He also spent a brief period of time as City Manager of Park City.
Keith's hobbies included hunting and fishing and he had a lifelong passion for good horses. He was never happier than when on his horse in the Unitah Mountains. Keith made many long lasting friends during the course of his life. He loved nothing better than hosting a party surrounded by those friends.
Keith is survived by his ever supportive wife, Joyce, of Heber City, Utah. Also survived by children Marilyn (Jeff) Bailey-Stowe, Richard (Judy) Bailey , Reed (Connie) Bailey, Brooke (Terrall) Christiansen and step children Lynn (Caryn) Dudley, Wayne (Becki) Dudley, Ken (Vickie) Dudley and Mark (Elsa) Dudley. Keith has 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by parents, brother Gordon, daughter Christine (Arnold) Crystal, grandson Wesley Bailey, and wife Eileen Glazier.
Funeral Services / Celebration of his life will be held Wednesday August 1, 2012 at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N. Main St., Heber City, UT. Friends may call on Tuesday from 7-9 PM at his home at 250 N. 500 East, Heber City, UT and at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home on Wednesday 10-10:45 AM. Interment will be at Marion City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Utah Heart Association, Susan B. Komen Foundation or a charity of their choice.
