EIGHTEEN IN THIS BREITUNG FAMILY
ALL SIZES AND AGES
Sixteen – count 'em -16.
On August 4, last, a daughter, Lois Remona, was born to Mr. & Mrs. Albert Cunningham, 885 Hooper Street, Breitung. With her arrival
Cunningham became the parents of 16 healthy, happy, energetic children, all but 1 living at home - & that one lives next door. Their ages range from Remona, 20 days old to Gilbert, 22. According to the parents, none of them have ever been sick & not a cent has been paid out in doctor bills, except when the children were born.
They live in a 3-room house, for which Mr. Cunningham pays $7 a month rent & they
all manage to eat regularly at one sitting & to sleep comfortably.
NINE TO ATTEND SCHOOL
Education is by no means neglected, but the children must wear shoes to school & in the winter. In other times, they prefer to be barefoot. "Those that go to school wear
the shoes", the mother explained, "but when they come home they turn their footwear over to the ones that stayed in waiting to go out in the snow."
"Sometimes we buy food, we might better buy clothes, Mr. Cunningham said, "but I would rather see them threadbare than hungry. An we always have plenty to eat."
