GRANBURY -- Verna Wiley, 90, a homemaker, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2002, in Granbury. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wiley was born March 4, 1912, in Coalsville to W.J. and Linda Wiggington Gouge. She married Ernest Wiley on May 19, 1928, in Weatherford and had lived in Granbury since 1948. Mrs. Wiley was a member of the Church of God. She was a lady of many talents and had a good sense of humor. She was loved by her family and friends.
Mrs. Wiley was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wiley; a son, James Wiley; and an infant daughter.
Survivors: Her daughters, Kathrean Thomas of Granbury and Nelda Bacon and husband, Jimmy, of Granbury; daughter-in-law, Betty Wiley of Granbury; son, Billy Wiley and wife, Sharon, of Granbury; sisters, Minnie Johnson of Weatherford and Opal Ford of Oxnard, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
