Edward Oberland, 77 (photo) of 1416A Marshall St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at the home.


Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


He was born in Manitowoc Sept. 15, 1877 son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alois Oberland and on April 14, 1906 married Miss Emma Schultz. He was employed in Plant No. 2 of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. in Manitowoc until his retirement seven years ago. The couple resided for four years with their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wick at Altadena, Calif., returning to Manitowoc in 1932.


Oberland was a charter member of the Manitowoc County Fish and Game Protective Assn. and in 1963 was honored by the association along with other charter members.


Surviving are his wife; daughter Mrs. Robert Wick, of Altadena; son, Paul, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Bouril and Miss Rose Oberland of Manitowoc; and four grandchildren.


Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.
