CECIL R. "CECH" OELKE

Mr. Cecil R. Oelke, 80, of 708 N. 5th St., Manitowoc, died early Friday morning, March 28, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Jens Funeral Home and 11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Zimmer will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.


Mr. Oelke was born July 1, 1905 at Wauzeka, Wis., son of the late Laport and Nellie Racob Oelke. He was educated in Wauzeka, Wis. He married Leona Proulx, Jan. 27, 1927, at Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 1972. He then married Mildred Pieschel Schwab, July 12, 1975 at Manitowoc and the couple resided here. Mr. Oelke was employed at Memorial Hospital for many years, retiring in 1973. For the last nine years he was employed at the Yacht Club. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Eagles Aerie 706.


Survivors include his wife, Mildred; three sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and LaVerne of Manitowoc, Richard and Delores of Two Rivers and Darwin and Mary of Manitowoc; two stepsons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and June Schwab of Ellicott, Maryland and Rodney Schwab of Manitowoc; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Kristine and Donald Cisler of Two Rivers and Karen and John Johnson of Manitowoc; a brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Loretta Oelke of Richland Center, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Cleora Lenz of Cassville, Wis. and Lucy Vanderveld of Kenosha, Wis.; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.


Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 am until the time of services. There will be a prayer service 7:30 pm Tuesday.
