Mrs. Edward Engelbrecht Dies at Green Bay as Restoration to Health Seemed Sure

Messages received in the city from Green Bay, Saturday evening, announcing the death there of Mrs. Edward Engelbrecht of this city, came as a sad shock to relatives and friends here who had believed Mrs. Engelbrecht on the high road to recovery and had anticipated her return home in a short time. Death was due to pneumonia. Mrs. Engelbrecht underwent an operation at the Green Bay hospital three weeks ago and a second operation was necessary but she appeared to be improving until she suffered an attack of Spanish influenza, which developed into pneumonia, and in her weakened condition she proved easy prey to the disease.

Decedent was a native of Manitowoc county, her maiden name having been Rose Oestreich. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oestreich and was born on Feb. 4, thirty years ago. She was married to Mr. Engelbrecht seven years ago.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Engelbrecht is survived by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

The body was brought here from Green Bay yesterday and the funeral will be held from the late home, 414 North Ninth street, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Machmiller officiating.
