Kenneth C. Oestreich, age 72, of 441 Roosevelt St., Fond du Lac, died Sunday, October 10, 1999, at Berlin Memorial Hospital, Berlin, Wis.


Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 1999, at Church of Peace, Fond du Lac. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Gerald Bertsch and Rev. Richard Weikel. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


Kenneth was born March 14, 1927, at Wausau, Wis., son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Feck Oestreich. He married Marilyn L. Bartelme May 22, 1948, at St. John's Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Oestreich attended schools in Wausau, Kimberly, and Manitowoc. He served in the United States Army in the 3rd Engineers, 24th Division from May 1945 to February 1947. He worked at Berkdale and Shimek Wholesale and Manitowoc Engine Company. He later worked for Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac retiring in 1989. Kenneth is a member of Church of Peace, where he served on the church council for eight years including Vice President and President. He was a member of the Quality Deer Management and the 24th Infantry Association. He enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, golf, and helping others.


Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, Fond du Lac; one son, Steven K. (Mary Rashid) Oestreich, Fond du Lac; one daughter, Susan K. Oestreich, Janesville; four granddaughters, Jennifer Kay, Angela Lynn, Kathleen marie (sic), Elizabeth Anne; one brother, Robert Oestreich, Manitowoc; one sister, Evelyn (Ben) Bies, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Richardt, Manitwooc; one sister-in-law, Ethel Bartelme. Also surviving are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gordon (Lorraine) Bartelme, Manitowoc, Glenn (Gerry) Bartelme, Manitowoc, Jack and Avis Bartelme, Oconomowoc, Robert (JoAnn) Bartelme, Manitowoc, Clariece (Carol) Carey, Manitowoc; sister-in-law, Betty Leannah, Florida; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Shirley Heidleman, Lucille and Clarence Jaecks; sister, Deloris Schuh; a brother, Richard Oestreich; brothers-in-law, Harold Bartelme, Kenneth Leannah, and Mike Bartelme.


Friends may call at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service at 10:30 a.m.


A memorial is being established.
