Mr. Harris G. Olander, 99, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away Monday morning at the Methodist Manor in West Allis, Wis.


Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Jens Funeral Home. Rev. William Plank officiating with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.


He was born October 11, 1891, in Hassjo, Sweden, and was the son of the late John and Martha Yeltman Olander. He married Irene Wilhelm on May 2, 1925, in Manitowoc, and the couple resided here all their lives. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy. He was the Treasurer of the Citizen Loan and Investment Company, retiring in 1956. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a 30 year member of the church choir. He was a member of the Isaac Walton and was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 65 of Manitowoc. He was a member of the SPEBSQSA.


Survivors include a son, Dr. James Olander of New York City, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, in 1966, three brothers and four sisters.


There will be no Monday evening visitation at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.


Jens Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
