OLSON RITES TO BE FRIDAY

Funeral services for Capt. Thomas Olson, 80, Manitowoc resident, who died Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.N. Fabrizi, in Milwaukee, will be held from the home, 622 North Tenth street, in this city Friday at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. R.B. Walden will officiate.

Captain Olson had many thrilling experiences. Before coming to the lakes he sailed vessels on the ocean. He came to Manitowoc 54 years ago and for a long span of years sailed out of this port.

Capt. Olson spent several years on the schooner James Hall, one of the trim craft operating out of the harbor when this port boasted more than a score of sailing ships. He skippered the yacht Phantom, owned by the late Fred Schuette and also served in charge of the yacht Gesine, owned by the late John Schuette.

Made Small Models

In late years when Capt. Olson retired form active sailing, he devoted much of his time to the making of small models of old-time sailing vessels. Two of these models are on display in the state historical museum in Madison. One of these ships was a model of the "John Schuette" one of the larger of the sailing vessels built in Manitowoc.

Capt. Olson left Manitowoc five months ago to make his home with his daughter in Milwaukee.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Fabrizi, Milwaukee, and Mrs. John Levanetz, Ripon, Wis.

The body may be viewed at the home on North Tenth street this evening.
