ROGER C. OLSON

Roger C. Olson, 66, of 1701 New York Ave., Manitowoc, died Friday evening, February 12, 1988, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.


Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Monday at Reinbold-Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei State Street Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Plank will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


Mr. Olson was born July 17, 1921 in Waupaca County, Wisconsin, son of the late Oscar and Emma Johnson Olson. He grew up and was educated in Waupaca County and graduated from the High School there in 1939 and later graduating from the National Institute of Dry Cleaners at Silver Spring, Maryland. Mr. Olson moved to Fond du Lac in 1952 where he was Manager of Model Laundry and Cleaners. He then moved to Manitowoc in 1956 where he was Co-owner of Zannacker Cleaners selling his interest in 1974 and then became District Manager for the International Fabricare Institute until 1976 and then in 1977 he became a Real Estate Agent selling Real Estate until the present time. He married Delora E. Dean, November 9, 1946 at Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Mr. Olson was on the Board of Directors of Manitowoc Salvation Army. He was a former member and past president of Manitowoc Lions Club, a former member of Manawa Masonic Lodge. Mr. Olson served with the United States Army from September of 1942 until November of 1945 serving overseas in the European Theatre.


Survivors include his wife, Delora; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Cal Olson of Wautoma, Wisconsin, Dave Olson of Evanston, Illinois and Dean and Sandra Olson of North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; a granddaughter, Lisa; a brother and sister-in-law, Reynold and Gladys Olson of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Leo Lyon of Waupaca, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leif and Norman.


Friends may call at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei State Street Chapel, Manitowoc, on Monday from noon until the time of services.
