George H. Wagner, 77, Kiel, Wis., former Town of Centerville resident, died unexpectedly at Calumet County Medical Center on April 7, 1998.
Born Feb. 6, 1921 in the Town of Centerville, he was a son of the late William and Nora Zill Wagner. He farmed the Wagner homestead farm in the Town of Centerville, retiring in 1973. He then worked for DHIA Manitowoc, Vogel Lumber Co., Manitowoc and Lakeside Packing Co., Manitowoc. He moved to Kiel in 1980.
George Wagner was a member of St. John & St. Peter Evang. Lutheran Church, Cleveland. He was an active member of St. Johnannes Cemetery Association and had been a member of Manitowoc County Farm Bureau.
Survivors are: one brother, Norman (Alice) Wagner, Manitowoc; five nieces and nephews, Sandra (Dale) St. Thomas, Sheboygan, Jane (Art) Janz, Wausau, Judy (Ken) Bruckschen, Cleveland, Ronald (June) Wagner, Kellnersville and Emmett (Sandra) Wagner, Manitowoc; and many friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, one brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and Lorena Wagner and one nephew in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April10, 1998 at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapels, Cleveland. Pastor Henry F. Koch will officiate and burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday morning at St. Johannes Cemetery, Cleveland. Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapels, 1056 Hemlock St., Cleveland Friday afternoon from 3 p.m. until the hour of service.
A memorial fund has been established in George Wagner’s name.
