Theresa Catherine Ferrero, 85, passed away on July 23, 2012 at Chapin Center, Springfield. She was born in Springfield to the late Michael and Regina (Cecchi) Ferrero. Theresa was a 1945 graduate of the High School of Commerce. She was first employed at the Hanover Insurance Co., West Springfield for 5 years and later worked for the City of Springfield as the Secretary to the Purchasing Agent and retired in 1991 after 14 years of service. She is survived by her sister, Mary Shepard of Agawam and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John B. Ferrero. Theresa's funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 26th beginning at 9AM from Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 Williams St., Springfield, at 10AM with burial to follow in Agawam Center Cemetery. A calling hour will be held the morning of the funeral from 8-9AM.
