She graduated from Mio Agricultural School in 1943 and married Beverly Roy Brown on October 12, 1946 in Mio at the Mishler home. They shared 55 years of marriage before Bev's death on September 29, 2001.
Lois retired as a book keeper for Sachs Hardware in 1988. She enjoyed her fellow employees and the many customers who became her friends.
Lois was a member of the Mio United Methodist Church and throughout the years was active in many activities.
Lois enjoyed feeding the birds, flower gardening, watching sports on T.V., going for rides, playing Bingo, Dominoes, and Euchre. Most of all she loved her family and her grandchildren. She was a proud "Thunderbolt Grandma" and still climbed to her spot at the top of the bleachers.
Surviving are Lois's 4 daughters, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and the master of her house, her dog Duffy. Daughter Barb (Dennis) Kann of Mio and their children: Kris Vaughn &Trenton of Mio and Dennis (Kelly) Kann of Mio and their children: Denny Ray, Whitney of Mio; Daughter Sandy Brown and friend Jerry of Dimondale, MI; Daughter Becky (Gary) Sidebottom of Mio and their children: Gary Sidebottom Jr. of Mio, Jen (Greg) Sieszputowski and their children: Jack and Kate of Mio, Greg Sidebottom of Mio, Matt Sidebottom of Scottsdale, AZ and Steve Sidebottom of Mio, MI. Daughter: Lynn Kann of Mio and her children: Mike (Brenda) Kann of Mio and their son Preston, Brian Kann of West Branch, Dustin (Heather) Kann and their children: Adriana and Olivia. Lois is also survived by a brother in law and sister in law Anne and Vern Philo of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Beverly; sister Edna Crane in 1981 and her brother Alger Mishler in 2011.
Visitation Sunday July 29th from 1-4 and 6-8 PM at the Lashley Funeral Home, Mio and on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11 AM at The Mio United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Brooks officiating. Interment at Mentor Township Cemetery, Mio.
