Mrs. Gailord Omer, 68, of 1134 South 16th St., Manitowoc, died early Wednesday at her home after a lingering illness. She was the wife of the city's civil defense director.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, with Christian Science services. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Omer, nee Helen Wangberg, was born March 2, 1893, at Marinette, daughter of the late Anton and Hilma Djornes Wangberg. On Feb. 24, 1919, she was married to Gailord Omer at Chicago. The Omers resided there until 1954 when they came to Manitowoc.

Surviving are the husband, a brother, Arthur, of Manitowoc and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Ludgate of Toronto, Canada, and Mrs. William Garland of Escanaba, Mich.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.
