Manitowoc — Viola A. Opichka, age 105, a resident of Laurel Grove Assisted Living, Manitowoc, died early Wednesday morning, October 3, 2018 at Laurel Grove.


She was born on June 6, 1913 in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Simon) Hynek. On November 6, 1929 she married James Opichka in Manitowoc. The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1937. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1954. Viola was employed at The Supper Club in Manitowoc for 25 years.


Survivors include a special niece: Elsie M. Zimmerman, Manitowoc. Also surviving are other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a son: Donald Opichka in 1989; four brothers: Frank, Joseph, Victor and Charles Hynek and one sister: Anna Litel.


Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 until 1:30 p.m.
