EMIL OPICHKA

Mr. Emil Opichka, 73, formerly of Rt. 3, Manitowoc, died Monday morning, February 9, 1987 at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Thursday at First Baptist Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Bruce Huffer will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.


Mr. Opichka was born March 28, 1913 at Denmark, Wisconsin, son of the late Joseph and Emma Rous Opichka. He married the former Nona Ward on December 9, 1944 at Milwaukee and the couple resided there prior to moving and residing in the Town of Gibson, Rt. 1, Denmark, and Rt. 1, Manitowoc. Mr. Opichka operated a farm in the town of Gibson and was also employed by Weyerhaeuser Company, retiring in 1975. His wife preceded him in death on November 9, 1969. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He then married the former Helen Johnson on June, 1986.


Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, Ward Opichka of Pasadena, California; a daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Dirk Anderson of Milwaukee; two brothers, Ray Opichka of Manitowoc and Darvin Opichka of California; five sisters, Mrs. Marcella Rauens of Manitowoc, Mrs. Lillian Bushman of Two Rivers, Mrs. Thomas (Clara) Rauch of Manitowoc, Mrs. Elder (Elsie) Zimmerman of Rt. 3, Manitowoc and Mrs. Darvin (Evelyn) Post of Cleveland and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis and a sister, Agnes Neuser.


Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 6 pm to 9 pm Wednesday and at the church from 12 noon Thursday to the time of services.

Inadvertently omitted from the list of survivors were a stepdaughter and her husband, Nancy and Tim Trowbridge of Cato; a stepson, Joe Johnson of Madison and a step great grandson, T.J. Trowbridge of Cato.
